Like the world’s busiest transportation systems, in Small subwayyou are always short of cash.
At its core, Small subway is a strategy sim. You must use your resources to manage metro lines and stations, connecting new stations as they appear, with the ultimate goal of seeing how long you can keep your city moving . There are over 20 transit focus cities to choose from—including Seoul, Barcelona, Berlin, Cairo, Osaka, Melbourne and Hong Kong—and if that pleases you, you can even create your own network for each city.
It’s all very minimalistic, with simple music and a subway map that looks straight out of Harry Beck’s portfolio. (He’s the guy who modernized the Tube map of London.) Mini Metro itself is appealing enough for fans of strategy puzzle games. For fans of transit, it’s a dream come true.
A good match for: NUMTOT, environmental activist, transit advocate, city planner and other comrades in the Auto Wars.
Not a good match for: Showing admiration.
Clock it in action.
