16 of the best adventure games of the past decade for only $10
Remember the early days of Humble Bundles? When every new deal announced is so essential and literally millions of dollars will be raised for each? It still happens from time to time, like last year Stand with Ukraine package that thing raised an incredible 20 million dollars for charities operating in the country, but over the past decade, the thrill has certainly disappeared. But seeing one of my favorite developers/publishers, Wadjet Eye Games, there is a deal on the sitereminds me of those times.
Wadjet Eye, a New York-based independent publisher and developer, largely created by Dave Gilbert, is responsible for many of the best adventure games of the past sixteen years. From its self-developed projects like unbelievable not recognized and black well series, with published series such as Gemini road and headlightthe name is usually a word for super adventures presented with a 90s vibe. When that happens, all those games mentioned, along with 9 others. , are included in the package, all for $10.
It’s a crazy bargain, and if you’ve moved away from click-by-click adventures in recent years, it’s a great way to kick back. You won’t believe how cool things are made in Studio Tools Adventure Game and Wadjet Eye is generally the best of them all. Other games featured are foreign country, primitive, Technobabylon, Resonance, all six Blackwell game, and Gilbert’s first game, god shiva. The selected charity is JDRFFundraising for type 1 diabetes research.
It’s interesting and sad to note how much of Humble’s shine has waned, as despite being out for five days, the bundle has only sold 9,000 copies, with $11,800 raised for JDRF at time of writing. Obviously it’s still great to see that money going somewhere good, but it’s a small drop compared to the company’s previous waterfalls.
Of course, in the years since Humble’s heyday as a bundle seller (the company is now owned by IGN and a highly successful independent publisher), a significant amount of goodwill has lost. A very wrong decision to limit the amount of your chosen payment that can be given to charity is announced, come backafterward reset anyway.
Thankfully, right now you can transfer your funds where you see fit, although the required 15% will go to Humble. (Meanwhile, there’s no developer minimum or good reason—surprisingly, you can adjust the sliders to give each coin to Humble with no coins going to other players.) creators of the game!) Also, the real selling point of “pay what you want” disappeared a long time ago, with minimal costs now totaling often enough for a few deals. Translation doesn’t feel like a bargain.
However, this definitely is! Grab it!
