20 people injured in Wisconsin USA when tractors enter Christmas parade

A car rammed into a Christmas parade in the US state of Wisconsin on Sunday night, police said, injuring more than 20 people.
Officials are still gathering information about the incident, which happened shortly after 4:30 p.m. (22:30 GMT), when spectators in the town of Waukesha, a suburb of Milwaukee, watch the annual tradition.
Police Chief Dan Thompson told reporters: “A red SUV drove into our Christmas parade that we were holding downtown. “More than 20 people were injured, as a result of this incident.”
“The Waukesha Police Department has recovered a suspect vehicle. This is an ongoing investigation,” he said, adding that officers had identified a person of interest.
Angelito Tenorio, who is running for Wisconsin state treasurer, was at the parade and told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he “saw an SUV passing, just put the pedals into the metal and sped out at full speed.” along the parade route.”
“And then we heard a loud bang, just high-pitched screams and screams from people hit by vehicles,” he said.
Police said many people were taken to hospital.
The Journal Sentinel reported that city footage showed the SUV speeding into the parade behind a school parade.
Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers said he and his wife are “praying for Waukesha tonight and all the children, families and community members affected by this senseless act.”
“We are in contact with our local partners as we await more information,” he added.
