2023 BMW M2 leaked | CarExpert

Hello new BMW M2.

Images of the compact coupe, which will sit below the M4 in BMW’s performance lineup, have been published on Bimmerpost.

The distinctive look of the regular 2 Series has been upgraded to 11 units, with a boxy front bumper and a strong curving rear. The car pictured here finished in blue looks suspiciously similar to Hyundai’s hero color scheme for the N Performance brand.

BMW recently said the M2 “boasts the same level of performance as the BMW M2 CS”, and has the same 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six engine as M3 and M4.

It also confirms the M2 will be available with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed M Steptronic torque converter automatic. Powertrain will also only be sent to the rear wheels upon launch – although reports have suggested that all-wheel drive will be added at some point.

According to the report, the standard M2 will have more power than the previous M2 Competition, producing 302kW of power and 550Nm of torque. The regular M2, last seen in 2018, puts out 272kW and 465Nm.

The new M2 Competition is rumored to see its output increase to 335kW or even 365kW, with the six-speed manual also expected to continue.

This power level in the new Competition puts the larger M3 and M4 in the line of M2. Both put out 353kW and 550Nm in base, manual clad, with competition models pumping out 375kW.

The BMW M2 will have an adaptive M chassis, as well as a “robust braking system” taken directly from the M3 and M4.

Optional equipment confirmed by BMW includes a carbon roof and M carbon bucket seats. Thanks previous images of a pre-production M2we already knew the two-door coupe would come with the BMW Curved Monitor.

The monitor setup seems to be similar to the one in i4 and iXwhich uses a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch central touchscreen in the same case.

The dual screens in these models run the latest BMW iDrive OS 8.0 infotainment software, with satellite navigation as standard.

In spite of BMW confirmed to have applied Curved Screen in Europe from July in the usual 2 Series coupe, it is still only available domestically with a separate 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen running 7.0 operating system.

BMW is now celebrating the 50th anniversary of the M division with a range of new high-performance models, including the new M2.
