BMW car released photos of the company’s most powerful M car, the plug-in hybrid XM SUV, which is undergoing dynamic testing before its launch in late 2022.

For now, the Bavarian automaker remains tight-lipped about details around the high-voltage battery capacity, 0-100km/h time, top speed and efficiency ratings of the XM.
The XM has a hybrid-specific M xDrive all-wheel drive system, which includes an electronic rear differential lock in the rear transmission.

As standard, the XM comes with M adaptive suspension and model-specific M brakes, while alloy wheels in sizes up to 23 inches are also offered.
For the first time in a BMW M, the XM features an electromechanical roll stabilization system supported by a 48V electrical system, as well as rear-wheel steering for low-speed cornering and high-speed driving stability. .
BMW still says that the XM will be mass-produced from the end of 2022 at the Spartanburg, South Carolina plant, where X3, X4, X5, X6 and X7 SUV models are currently in production.
This camouflaged XM prototype retains the same basic form and key design features as the Concept XM.
Compared to one former spy prototypethis prototype still has camouflage covering the large, horizontally oriented kidney grille rather than the tall vertical grille found on the M3 and M4.
On the Concept XM, the kidney grille is also illuminated. It is not clear if this particular feature will appear on the production XM, although the lighting grid is provided on X6 and upgrade X7.
The split headlight design of the XM is very similar to the new headlights 7 Lines and X7 upgrade.
At the rear, the prototype retains the Concept XM’s stacked trapezoidal exhaust tips, which BMW promises will create a “typically emotional M track”.
We have yet to see a photo of the interior of the production XM without the camouflage. It looks a bit different from the Concept XM but it is expected to boast a ‘curved dash’ like i4 and iXwith touch screen and digital instrument cluster housed in the same housing.
The Concept XM features classic brown leather front seats, as well as vertical vents for the center stack, and a sculpted and illuminated headboard with ambient lighting.
At the back, the concept’s seats have a quilted velvet finish and are paired with deep floor mats that include a diamond pattern.
