2023 BYD Atto 3 price and specifications

The 2023 BYD Atto 3 is the first taxi to rank for Chinese car and battery giant relaunch and expansion in the Australian market.

Delivery of BYD Atto 3 has begun in Australia, but all of them are by far the flagship Extended Range variant that has a larger battery pack and is priced at $47,381 before shipping costs.

Input level Atto 3 Standard Range will arrive in Australia in late 2022 or early 2023.

While the BYD Atto 3 is largely well-equipped, there are features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto that will be added in an over-the-air (OTA) update in Q4 2022. A recent update brought back to original navigation and conversational voice prompts.

BYD has partnered with EVDirect, acting as an importer and distributor in Australia. As well as its own online gallery and the actual Experience Centers, distributors have cooperated with Eager for a nationwide dealer network.

The company is widely seen as one of Tesla’s most potential rivals and has big plans for the local market, with two other electric vehicle models being rolled out using in-house batteries and a reservation platform.

Powertrain

Both variations of 2023 BYD Atto 3 provided by a single electric motor manufacturing 150kW power and 310Nmwith transmission sent through the front wheels.

Input level 2023 BYD Atto 3 Standard Range equipped with a Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery 49.92kWh and is said to have a bunch of 345km according to the WLTP test.

Maintenance is required every 12 months or 20,000km whichever comes first. There is a free inspection every three months or 5000 km, whichever comes first.

In response to the initial service price backlash, BYD recently introduced a cheaper service option for customers who don’t require as many miles.

If you’re an owner driving less, you can pay a flat rate of $189 for every 12 months/20,000 km up to a 60,000 km service over 5 years.

For owners who make about 20,000 km per year, the revised service price is as follows:

That works out to an average of $298.75 per service, or $2390 for a total of eight years.

Safety

The BYD Atto 3 has yet to receive an official ANCAP or Euro NCAP crash test rating, although the results are on track to be announced on October 13. This story will be updated as it is released.

Luke Todd, CEO of BYD distributor EVDirect, told CarExpert the Atto 3 has been designed to achieve a five-star ANCAP rating.

Todd said EVDirect worked “very deeply with NCAP, also advanced facilities across China working with NCAP outside of Europe, and then we also worked with the local ANCAP team.” .

“We have been very clear that this vehicle has been built to achieve a five-star ANCAP rating in Australia and we are confident we are on track for that announcement,” said Todd. CarExpert.
