2023 Ford Ranger: Several new trails designed to address vibrations
2023 Ford Ranger utes are just starting to show up in customer driveways but one problem has come to light.
Some owners have posted on social media about experiencing tail shaft shake in V6 models at speeds between 40-80km/h.
Ford Australia claims this issue affects only a small number of vehicles and is contacting owners it believes are affected.
If you own a vehicle and are experiencing this problem, Ford says you can contact one of its dealers to have the vehicle inspected and repaired.
For vehicles that have not yet reached customers, the company will test-drive all vehicles that it believes may be affected.
The company hasn’t announced exactly how long the delay will be for owners of the affected vehicles before they can receive their refund. Rangers.
Many owners have posted on social media that they’ve been told a “quality check” will delay deliveries, but many have yet to be given a new delivery date.
A Ford Australia spokesperson said: “We are aware of a small number of vehicles exhibiting vibration or harshness at certain times while driving.
“As part of the normal pre-delivery process, our dealers are conducting a road test of the customer’s vehicle and working with our engineering team to resolve any concerns. before they are delivered to the customer.”
Ford isn’t the only brand to run into problems its first year with a new vehicle, though unfortunately for the brand it easily affects the launch of its most premium car in a decade – and seems to affect the most popular variants with the longest wait times.
The company says Wildtrak V6 for example, will take about eight months to be on the market if ordered today.
The spec upgrade – just below the upcoming Raptor in the Ranger hierarchy – is in hot demand, especially when equipped with the optional Premium Package.
Ford says owners can get the Wildtrak sooner if they specify it without the aforementioned package.
Dealers are delivering around 10,000 new generation Rangers across Australia during July and August.
The company confirmed back in June that it was received about 17,000 Ranger ordersincluding 4,000 for the gasoline-powered Raptor alone.
