Electric vehicle startup Fisker has released details on the powertrain of its upcoming entry-level crossover, along with a preview of its interior.
Described as a “sports crossover”, Fisker Pearl will be available in single-engine rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive configurations with an “optional four-level package.”
There will also be two battery packs available, with the larger ‘Hyper Range’ pack claimed to be available 310 miles target range (498.9km).
Book to get a quote from below US$29,990 (A41,771 dollars), the Fisker Pear will be fully revealed in the second half of 2023 and go into production at New factory acquired by Foxconn in Ohio in 2024.
Fisker claims they have received a total of 3200 pre-orders for Pear, with a larger number Ocean The SUV has now surpassed 50,000 reservations.
According to Fisker, development of the Pear is underway, with prototype testing expected to begin in late 2022.
The first interior images for the upcoming Pear show it has a futuristic design with Kia EV6– nice front seats and a Tesla Model 3-as central touch screen.
There appears to be no instrument cluster or display in front of the driver.
Previous teaser image has shown the Pear will have four doors, pop-out door handles and digital rearview mirrors, while up front it will get slim headlights and illuminated ‘Pearl’ wordmarks.
Fisker has confirmed the Pear will come with a so-called ‘SolarSky panoramic roof’, which incorporates solar panels into the roof, and will also feature a ‘Houdini trunk’.
The function of this second feature is still a bit unclear but Fisker says it is “an alternative to traditional rear cargo hatches”.
Fisker previously pointed out that the Pear is about 4500mm . long (similar to Volkswagen Tiguan) and has room for five people.
It will be built on a new proprietary architecture that will underpin two additional Fisker models set to track Pear.
Henrik Fisker, President and CEO of Fisker stated: “The Pear will be a revolutionary electric vehicle that is not suitable for any existing segment.
“The exterior design will feature new lighting technology and a wraparound front windshield inspired by a hovering aircraft canopy, enhancing frontal visibility.”
While Fisker has released more teaser images of the Pear and the upcoming Project Ronin The four-door convertible, the larger Ocean SUV will be the first taxi to rank for the startup.

Currently, Magna-Steyr is preparing to start production of the Fisker Ocean from November 17, 2022 at a carbon-neutral plant in Graz, Austria.
Ocean’s starting price is $37,499 ($A52,229) before federal and state tax credits in the US.
Fisker has confirmed that it will be producing the Ocean in the right hand as it will be sold in Europe and the UK, although it has yet to officially confirm its plans to launch in Australia.
