5 Hacks for Pulling Off The Ultimate 4th Of July Party
The 4th of July has always been one of my favorite holidays. We go to my family’s bungalow at the lake in Montana every year with my extended family and we’ve had many years of celebrating spending time together, so it’s always a magical vacation just know that it will be family time together, perpetuating years-old traditions and creating new ones. We do tea and charcuterie every year, this year I wanted to try one before we hit the road to Montana with some of our friends and family here – that’s our bucket list Me to make a table counter charcuterie (salty and sweet!), so we went out with festive drinks and a s’mores bar.
Here are some of the best tricks I’ve found to wrap up the last 4th of July party. Don’t feel like you need to combine them all! Even just adding 1 or 2 will add a fun, festive touch to your weekend getaway.
DETAILS: TANK CROPPED red (under $30 – S) | DENIM (under $40 – size 25) | STAR DOLL
Hack #1: Color-coordinated cuisine
To create a festive spread, I knew I wanted to use red-white-blue tones for all the snacks. It has made everything flow together and sticking to the 4th of July festival theme a lot easier. I went to Sam’s Club and knew the fruit would go easy with all the red and blue berries, but I was surprised at the number of other red/white/blue snacks and candies they had for the upcoming holiday – especially when it comes to the ‘ candy rampant that I’ll share later.
Hack #2: It’s all in the details
ALPHABET MINI . CUTTING MACHINE
STAR CUTTING MACHINE
TREATMENT: CLUB OF SAM
I’ve always been a fan of the details at any event I attend, so I knew I wanted to include some cute, festive details wherever I could. Try using mini cookie cutter to spell words in watermelon or cheese. We also used a star cookie cutter from this series for the cheeses and sprinkle them throughout the 4th of July charcuterie. I had a local company from Utah help me and they made the most beautiful salami roses! My aunt actually tried to teach me a few years ago at the lake, just use the rims of a glass and fold them while stacking them around the rim to get that perfectly round shape.
Hack #3: Sparklers, But Sweet
We’ve made some sparkling baby berries from the watermelon and blueberry stars for some healthy treatment options. They look so cute but we also added the red-white-blue drink that we made for a more festive look.
Secret #4: Let the Festival flow
DETAILS: GLASSES
Whether kid-friendly drinks or adult drinks, drinks are a great excuse to play big on holiday. We set up a drink table for the kids where they can make their own drinks. I put red, white, and blue Gatorade and Sprite for the base and then put in Kool-aid ice cubes, cotton candy, popsicles, licorice straws, and fresh fruit so they could get creative.
Hack #5: Don’t eat candy
My kids would eat candy all day if I left them as it was they were in heaven when they saw this candy filling spread AND the decadent bar of s’mores. I’m glad my hobby of going above and beyond with things like this got me some points. 😉 They keep saying that this is the best 4th of July viral ever. 😂 We made a marshmallow board in all red, white and blue from Sam’s Club and it was so simple to put together. We also made a s’mores bar for fire pit area and have mixed up different chocolates – milk chocolates, cookies and ice cream, Reese’s, Andes mints, etc. The dessert table is a cute addition and a huge hit with the whole family!
Let me know if you guys have any hacks or archiving tips you love for the 4th of July!
Also this red head, I’m obsessed with the square neckline on it! It comes in a ton of colors and is under $30!
Also shout Beck & Noelle Board Co., if you are in utah and want a big electronic board or want to learn how, they can help you set up or do the whole job for you. I love learning and being a part of the process but they do both!
