Bollywood actor Sonu Sood on Tuesday appeared as a witness before a special court in a case related to the 2014 shooting at producer Karim Morani’s bungalow and for know he received a threatening call from gangster Ravi Pujari asking him not to participate in the promotion of the movie ‘Happy New Year’.
According to police, the shooting was carried out by members of the Ravi Pujari gang.
The prosecution claimed there was a plot against Mr. Morani for the right to promote the Hindi film abroad. Besides Mr Sood, the 2014 film also stars Bollywood actors like Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles.
According to special prosecutor Pradeep Gharat, the actor fully supports the prosecution and his recording of evidence was completed on Tuesday before the Maharashtra Organized Crime Control Act (MCOCA) court. where the case is being heard.
During his ouster, Mr. Sood told the court that in 2014 he received a threatening call from Pujari, asking him not to do the ‘Happy New Year’ commercial.
The 48-year-old actor said he learned from the media that there was a shooting at Mr Morani’s house in Mumbai.
According to the indictment, Pujari has been targeting the cast and crew of ‘Happy New Year’ since Mr. Morani turned down his request to give the film’s overseas promotion rights to the gangster. .
