Dispel the myth that you are Team Color or Team Neutral when it comes to design! In ours kitchen remodelingWe had the opportunity to go bold with cabinet paint colors. But just because your cabinets are neutral doesn’t mean your kitchen can’t express color and personality on its own.
One thing I never want to overlook or deny in our content is that there’s nothing wrong with a predominantly neutral color home. But if you We Someone who is attracted to bold colors and you want to add some pops of color to your kitchen, this post is for you.
Below, you’ll find nine of my ideas for infusing a bit of color into your kitchen. I hope you’ll find some inspiration to enter your own home as you go through this list!

Add a colorful lamp.
I love the look of a lamp on the kitchen countertop. It always reminds me of the Nora Ephron set. At Goodwill there are often plenty of light base colors that look great with a simple white shade. Or, maybe buy a shade in a fun print on Etsy that will hide any possible cooking mess!

Get creative with your product bowl or toolbox.
This is an easy place to start experimenting with color in your kitchen. Swap out your bowl holders or production prep for one in a bold color of your choice. I usually rotate a few of my favorites from antique or thrift stores when I want to change things up.

Take a different approach to the cabinet door.
Adding colorful printed fabric is a useful way to create cover for under-counter storage if you don’t have a closet door. I love this look and think it instantly adds charm to the space.

Swap out your buttons and drawers.
Colorful knobs on white cabinets can instantly make them look more sophisticated or fun (whichever style you feel like best)! Choose oversized knobs with contrasting finishes (think glossy knobs on matte cabinets) or mix and match antique knobs. You can even paint your own wooden knobs a fun color that you can swap out later if you happen to change your mind.

Add greenery.
Any kitchen (or room, for that matter) can benefit from the addition a few trees. Add a few potted herbs of your choice to add function to the greenery, or place a potted plant on an open shelf for a bit of drama.

Get creative with tableware.
Colorful tableware on open shelves adds instant visual interest to any kitchen. If you don’t know where to start, solid colors are a great starting point. And if you already have a set of neutral colored dishes that you love, you can start experimenting by adding small plates with patterns or bold colors (I have and love them). this collection from CB2!).

Exchange your bed linen.
Adding colorful tea towels or cloth napkins to your kitchen is an easy way to experiment with different looks and patterns without spending a fortune. Over time, I gradually built up a collection of different patterns and colors. These blue striped napkins I found on Etsy that has become a favorite addition to mealtimes around here!

Hanging artwork.
If you have an empty wall, hang some colorful artwork to add interest. Antique oil paintings are often affordable and add character to a space. Look at Etsy, attend flea markets, and keep an eye out for an antique store. I found the painting in our kitchen (pictured below) for $45 at Junk Bonanza last fall!

Stack your drawers.
Line your kitchen drawers with beautiful wallpaper for a pop of color. This is a great way to use old wallpaper from a previous home project or put a small roll of vintage wallpaper to good use!
