Afemath is a new survival horror game that pits players against an alien invasion
Developers One-O-One Games and Meta Publishing have closed the curtain for Aftermath, a new survival horror game due out next year. The player controls an astronaut who returns to Earth after a mission only to find the planet shut down by an alien invasion.
After a tumultuous return to Earth, protagonist Charlie Gray finds herself alone, emotionally broken, but driven by a single mission to locate her missing daughter. She is up against a terrifying extraterrestrial threat, namely an invisible hunter that watches her every move. Charlie must overcome this foe to stay alive while also facing more frontal threats like shivering zombie-like creatures in third-person over-the-shoulder combat. Charlie may not be a soldier, but she is a brilliant engineer, using those skills to create blueprints for tools by examining everyday objects. Think of her as a McGyver. As a survival game, managing Charlie’s nutrition, hydration and mental health is very important.
Aftermath’s presentation and foreboding atmosphere were created by artist Alessandro Bavari, art designer. Alien: Covenant. The soundtrack boasts original tracks by artists like Unkle, Planet Funk, and others.
If Aftermath piqued your interest, watch out when it launches in 2022 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PC.
