Alfa Romeo Tonale receives five-star ANCAP rating
The Alfa Romeo Tonale received a five-star rating from ANCAP, based on Euro NCAP testing of the small crossover.
Its rating is dated 2022 because the test was conducted according to previous 2020-22 testing protocols.
Five-star scores apply to both Ti and Veloce.
ANCAP says it has performed well in all four key assessment areas, delivering “overall good performance” to protect vulnerable adults, children and road users as well as the ability to collision avoidance.
It received an adult occupant protection rating of 84%, a child occupant protection rating of 87%, a vulnerable pedestrian protection rating of 67% and a Safety support is 85%.
The category scores differ slightly from Euro NCAP for adult protection ratings (83%) and child occupant protection ratings (85%).

Standard safety equipment on all native Tonale models includes:
- Automatic emergency braking with vulnerable pedestrian detection

- Adaptive cruise control with stop/go
- Rear camera with parking sensor front and rear
- Traffic sign recognition
- Smart speed support
- Six airbags
Veloce adds:
- Side parking sensor
- Traffic Jam Automatic Driving Assistant Level 2
- Surround view camera
- Blind spot monitoring
- Rear traffic warning
The base Ti starts at $49,900 before on-road costs, and the Veloce costs $56,400 before on-road.
