Analysis: Time to toss another coin for ‘The Witcher’ and more
I am. Because between the stress of the holiday and anxiety about variations, I don’t really sleep completely peacefully these days.
If this is you, come join me on the communal couch (social distancing of course) to take your time until things get better.
‘The Witcher’ Part 2
The “Man of Steel” star returns as Geralt of Rivia, the monster hunter, in the second season of the Netflix series, based on the popular book series by Andrzej Sapkowski.
Season two begins streaming on Friday.
‘Swan Song’
Name a role that Mahershala Ali didn’t play. I will wait.
In this new film, he plays a doting father and husband who is faced with an incurable illness and a possible way to protect his family from the grief that follows.
The main characters are heavyweight in this movie, with Naomie Harris playing his wife, Poppy, and Glenn Close as his doctor.
It started streaming on Apple TV + Friday.
‘Shatner in space’
The documentary is streaming on Amazon Prime, naturally.
Two things to listen to
‘Succession’ podcast
Swisher has guests including people who work on the show and fellow journalists who help break it all down.
Ways to maintain love “Succession”.
It streams on Apple, Spotify, and other services where podcasts can be found.
‘The real killer’
If you’re a regular reader of Pop Life Chronicles, you know that true crime is a passion of mine. For your newbie, get rid of that information.
The “real killer” is exactly the kind of podcast that has to be plugged in all the way to try and verify the truth.
Host Leah Rothman investigates “one of the most gruesome crimes in Missouri history.” It was a case that made it difficult for law enforcement and resulted in a St. Louis was sentenced to life in prison.
The first two episodes are currently streaming on IHeartRadio and other podcast platforms.
One thing to talk about
If an award show isn’t televised, is it really an awards show?
What is the award ceremony without television?
Awards shows are supporting life in terms of ratings, but one thing Hollywood loves is self-celebration.
So I suppose so.
Something to sip
From time to time, something will happen on reality TV that can lead one to question what “no description” shows really are.
Such was the case with this season of “The Bachelorette.”
Social media has been wowed over the past few weeks by this year’s love-seeking woman of the year, Michelle Young, which ended with the final four contestants of both races, just like her .
Now, it could simply be that, as a person of color, she finds more in common with other contestants of color.
What do you think? Coincidence or the savvy skill of the show’s producers?
