A day after Virat Kohli stepped down as India’s Test captain, Anushka Sharma took to social media to praise her husband and also recall his journey as the national team’s red ball captain. On Instagram, she posts two photos including a selfie of a cute couple. The Bollywood star also revealed the date when Kohli first informed her that he would take the Test cricket captain’s armband due to MS Dhoni’s decision to quit the tournament. “I remember the day in 2014 when you told me you were made captain when MS decided to take a break from cricket. I remember MS, you and I talked later that day and he joked about it how fast your beard will be she writes.
The actress went on to explain Kohli’s growth as captain of the national team and also said that she is proud of him.

Kohli stepped down as Test captain on Saturday following India’s 1-2 defeat to South Africa in a series of three red-ball games.
Kohli also stepped down as India’s T20I captain after last year’s T20 World Cup and was soon dropped from the ODI captaincy when BCCI appointed Rohit Sharma as full-time white ball captain in December.
