On Thursday, April 7, Ashanti was honored with the 2,718th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which is dedicated to the recording category. The star comes two decades after the release of her hit self-titled debut studio album, which peaked at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and the R&B album chart for 55 weeks. “I’m shocked, stunned and so grateful,” she told Billboard after introducing her star and posing with her loved ones on Hollywood Boulevard. “This has been a major factor in my career, and the fact that it will be here forever is a big deal.”
