Ashok Leyland’s total car sales increased 51% to 14,121 units in August

Commercial vehicle maker Ashok Leyland’s total vehicle sales, including exports, increased 51% year-on-year to 14,121 units in August, the company said on Thursday.
The Hinduja Group locomotive sold a total of 9,360 vehicles in August 2021.
Total sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCV) increased by 81% year-on-year and reached 8,379 units from 4,632 units sold in August 2021, with truck volume increasing 70% to 7,325 units, compared with 4,297 units per year before.
Light commercial vehicle (LCV) sales reached 5,742 units in August, up 21% from 4,728 vehicles in the same month last year.
Domestic vehicle sales rose 58% to 13,301 units in the month under review, from 8,400 units in the same period last year, the company said.
