Audiomack expands licensing agreement deal with Universal Music Group, covering Africa, the UK and Canada

Streaming and discovery platform Audiomack has signed a license agreement with Universal Music Group (UMG).

Agreement to deliver UMG content to Audiomack subscribers in countries on the African continent, the United Kingdom and Canada.

The agreement between the two companies expands on an earlier licensing agreement between Audiomack and UMG for the United States.

With this new expansion agreement, a curated selection of UMG content is now available to Audiomack users in 16 African countries.

These countries are Algeria, Benin, Cameroon, Congo, Egypt, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Mali, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe), along with the United Kingdom and Canada.

UMG says it will also offer Audiomack a full catalog to its premium subscribers in Africa.

Partnering with Audiomack to deliver its content across Africa, UMG joins Distrokid, who signed an agreement with Audiomack in 2021and Warner Music GroupWho same year signed a licensing agreement with Audiomack for key African territories including Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa and Tanzania.
