‘Bad feeling’ for Arsenal in the past after Arteta criticism leaked



Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang clarified his comment on Mikel Arteta after a video showed him criticizing Arsenal The manager, says he had “a lot of bad feelings” with the north London club at the time but wishes them well now.

Video leaked on social media shows Aubameyang saying “Big characters and big players… he can’t deal with it. He needs some young players who don’t say anything” as the former put it. Gabon internationally talked about Arteta.

On Monday, Aubameyang said the video was recorded shortly after his arrival Barcelonawhom he joined in February on a free transfer following the termination of his contract with Arsenal.

“At the time, I still had a lot of bad feelings inside of me – Arsenal are doing great things this season and I wish all my old people well,” said Aubameyang, who was signed for Chelsea in September, said in a Twitter post.

“Just not on November 6,” he added, referring to Chelsea’s Premier League derby against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.

Aubameyang was at odds with Arteta last season over disciplinary issues when he was first stripped of the Arsenal captaincy before his contract was terminated.

The 33-year-old has scored once in the Premier League for Chelsea, sitting fourth in the table with 16 points from eight games.
