Battlefield’s class system is finally back in 2042
When Battlefield 2042 is getting better with each update (or at least as close to the game it could and should have been), there is one thing that has annoyed a lot of longtime players since its release and continues to do so.: Expert, a series of “hero” characters designed to replace the old “class” system.
Instead of letting the player choose from an assigned role from a nondescript grunt—attacker, engineer, scout, etc—2042 Instead, bring in pretentious characters, each with their own unique gadgets and skills. That is type same idea, just expressed with some more flexibility and personality, but countless fans hate it. If it weren’t for their nasty catchphrases—has been reduced—the fact that you can never glimpse what kind of gear your teammates (or opponents) will carry.
DICE became aware of this very quickly, that’s why they announced back in august 2022 that the game development will basically go back to the drawing boardand that a lot of things were cut or changed for 2042 would be more in line with what the series was known for.
The most important of these changes is the reversal of the “caste” system. It’s a The game’s 3.2 update is finally out at the end of this month. While it won’t go as far as many fans would like—it doesn’t remove the Professionals entirely, just rearrange their devices and bureaus them into the classes—at least it will bring that spirit.
I’m so glad DICE is doing anything else about this, because the bigger the fans, the more true, the game yes it’s a bit flawed to not have what the developers call a “role sense”, but as someone with a favorite Expert (Mackay) is about to lose access to my favorite extension (SOFLAM) ) as part of the class reorganization, I wanted to try the new set up myself before getting too excited.
