BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover leaves company, day after wife was fired
New Delhi: BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover has resigned from the company and its board, Economic Times reported on Tuesday. This comes days after BharatPe fired his wife Madhuri Jain Grover for allegedly having financial irregularities, from producing fake invoices to issuing company invoices for personal beauty treatments and overseas trips.
In a letter to the BharatPe board, he said, “I write this with a heavy heart because today I was forced to bid on a company of which I am the founder. I hold my head high. head saying that today this company is at the forefront of the fintech world.Unfortunately, since the beginning of 2022, I have been embroiled in baseless and targeted attacks against me and my family by some individuals are willing to not only harm me and my reputation but also damage the reputation of the company, which they are ostensibly trying to protect.”
Ashneer Grover has been fired from his job following allegations of abusive language against Bank employees Kotak Mahindra and fraudulent practices, which he has denied.
Mr Grover and his wife have accused the bank of reneging on a promise to buy him shares worth Rs 500 crore during Nykaa’s initial public offering (IPO).
He filed an arbitration lawsuit with the Singapore International Arbitration Center (SIAC) claiming the company’s investigation into him was illegal. However, the SIAC refused his pleas, giving him no relief in the matter.
