‘Black Adam’ End Credits Scene’s Henry Cavill Superman Surprise Was Annoying
(Warning: Spoilers for the end-credits scene in Black Adam front.)
Dwayne The Rock Johnson was one of Hollywood’s first pitchers, and he spent a considerable amount of money on Black Adam the press tour talks about a potential duel between the formidables DC Extended Universe Villain Black Adam and Man of Steel. So it’s nothing but repulsive to discover that, in Jaume Collet-Serra’s lavish superhero credits, Johnson’s revived demigod shares the screen with Henry Cavill’s Superman in what serves as a glimpse of what could happen in the comics.
Johnson’s desire to join the already established DCEU and quickly go head-to-head with its most famous member is a bit more reminiscent of the time when the actor joined. Fast and furious franchise and immediately got into trouble with its big dog, Vin Diesel. As in that road rage series, there’s no way Johnson’s late entrant could actually win such a fight; for all his super speed, strength, and ability to fly and shoot lightning from his fingertips, Black Adam remains a level 2 Superman variant who is destined to defeat (or, preferably, deadlock) in any eventual competition against the real thing.
However, the anti-hero is quite confident that he is the ugliest person on the planet, this despite the fact that, at the end of Black Adamhe was informed by Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller that he is now permanently detained in his home city of Kahndaq, and that if he tries to leave he will be returned to his place by one of the her minions.
With the same cold, smug attitude he displayed throughout his feature launch, Black Adam noted that no one on Earth could stop him, at which point Waller informed him. him that she has aliens at her disposal. Cue the long-awaited return of Superman Cavill, his first appearance in the official DCEU since the ill-fated 2017 Alliance justice (“The 2021 Snyder Cut” is technically an independent joint venture).
With a confident smile of his own, he remarked, “It’s been a while since anyone worried the world this much,” and told Adam that maybe it was best for them to talk. Johnson’s final smirk makes it clear that he’s enjoying the chance to take on the Earth defender, echoing Johnson’s frequent comments in the media that what he aspires to do. most thirsty is an epic skirmish between Black Adam and the giants of the Justice League.
Of course, whether he gets that chance still depends on whether Black Adam proves a viable indie character by earning enough box office money to warrant a follow-up attempt. Recent reports indicates that a Cavill . title Man of Steel 2 is in early development showing Warner Bros. and DC want to keep their options open regarding Johnson’s dream project (or, at least, keep their star happy).
However, considering that Johnson’s latest is generic and dull, and that Cavill superhero outings haven’t exactly set the world on fire, it’s probably too early to get any real hope. What’s the point of watching Johnson and Cavill trade off-air restaurants – even if Black AdamThis trailer’s trailer does the trick upstream between now-familiar interconnected films of distracting attention from the current film’s lameness by sparking excitement. for a future chapter.
