Britannia Names Rajneet Kohli as CEO
BENGALURU:
Britannia Industries, maker of popular Good Day and Tiger cookies, on Friday said it has appointed Rajneet Kohli as chief executive officer, effective September 26.
Mr. Kohli is currently president and chief sales officer of Domino’s India, run by food service company Jubilant FoodWorks. He also held senior leadership roles at Asia Paint Co., Ltd and Coca-Cola Co., Ltd.
His appointment to the position of newly created CEO in Britannia comes at a time when the industry is grappling with concerns about profit margins amid soaring inflation.
Britannia reported a 13.4% drop in June-quarter profit for August, missing analyst estimates due to soaring costs.
Mr. Kohli will report to CEO Varun Berry, who has also been assigned the role of vice president.
“Rajneet’s proven track record of scaling his business and building a highly engaged team makes him the perfect fit for the organization,” Berry said in a statement.
Britannia, over 100 years old, is present in more than 80 countries across North America, Europe, Africa, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Household names also make cakes, breads and dairy products.
