The duo was trained by Chad Brown of GI Preakness winner S. Vote early (Gunman) and GI Toyota Blue Grass S. hero Zandon (Start up) each took part in their final blows on Saturday in Saratoga for next week’s GII Jim Dandy S.. Who used to work in the company with GII Amsterdam S.-bound Exactly (Realistic jokes) and is credited with five plates in 1:01.05 (12/30), while the latter has the same gap in his own 1:01.95 (22/30).
Brown said: “Both horses did very well. Zandon went alone. It was a nice easy job for him. I’m really pleased with the way he moves. With Early Vote, I did a little more with him today with a coworker. He went great. I’m very satisfied. As long as they play well, I’ll be happy.”
Zandon was last seen finishing third in the GI Kentucky Derby May 7. Meanwhile, early voting was last seen at Pimlico and was working at Belmont Park before Saturday.
“We want to see how he moves on the track,” Brown said. “In that way, he seems like a pretty good horse. Looks like he brought his track with him. I’ve never seen him train poorly, but it’s nice to take that out and give him a job on the track to see that he’s progressing well. “
D. Wayne Lukas Trained The path of purity (Quality Sugar) also worked Saturday at the Spa (4f in: 49.72 {28/48} from the gate via the Oklahoma Train Road) and could go in Jim Dandy or be restricted Curlin S. a day earlier on Friday.
“We took him out the gate just to hone him a little bit and figure out where we were,” Lukas said. “I’m trying to read a little better about him. Today his effort is very good. He went into 49 and changed and he really could be better than that. I worked with him with a 2 year old pony (Track Mate {Union Rags}) and he waited. This is a good job. “
Ethereal Road defeated Sir Barton S. on Preakness and most recently finished sixth in the GIII Ohio Derby on June 25.
