They are now focusing on their careers as Offset prepares for his second solo studio album and Cardi is filming her series Meta, Cardi Tries. The duo have also kept details of their newborn son close to the chest – something Cardi said was a deliberate move after witnessing an online reaction to Kulture.
“We’ve been through a lot of sad things when it comes to Kulture – horrible behavior that even older kids haven’t experienced,” she said. “So a lot of people will post malicious, disgusting things, just to get a reaction from us.”
They were hesitant to post Wave because, as Cardi explains, “We wanted to protect our feelings, because we were very, very angry and upset.”
As for Kulture, Offset shared that he and Cardi are raising her to focus more on work ethic than celebrity status.
“I never told my daughter she was a celebrity,” he said. “I wanted her to have the mindset of a worker. I always tell my kids how hard I’ve worked, how many years I’ve spent in a position where everything is fine. .”
