Clubhouse adds live subtitles to iOS app, supporting 13 languages
Clubhouse has begun rolling out the subtitles feature to the iOS app. The much-awaited function automatically creates recordings directly in the audio session and allows the user to follow the speaker along with the formatting in the text. Distinct people can also access the audio-only social networking platform after the latest update. That way, the new feature adds another element to the app’s broader push. Live captioning is already available in Clubhouse’s major competitor in the audio space – Twitter Spaces.
Club house on November 18 announced updated on its official Twitter account along with an example. Users with the latest version of the iOS app can use this feature while in the live room. Closed captioning is now available in 13 languages by The report by TechCrunch. These include English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Chinese Yue, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Arabic, Russian and Turkish. 12 additional languages are suppose in beta testing. There’s also no word on when Clubhouse will make closed captioning available on its Android app.
Clubhouse recently launched a series of accessibility features that make the audio chat platform easier to use. To compete with people like Twitter space, Facebook, and Instagram, Clubhouse has added support for 13 new languages to its Android app including French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Kannada, Korean, Malayalam, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Tamil and Telugu.
Also, Clubhouse is adding the ability record and playback chats and download 30-second clips to share on social networks or other sites. The app in October announced a Pinned link feature that allows users to share external links and monetize their work on the platform.
In addition, it has launched a feature that allows users to virtually wave with friends inside its app to show they are open in private conversation. The private audio chat room opens when a person accepts the wave.
