Conor Benn returns to WBC rankings, gets verdict in favor of investigation

Via Barry Holbrook: Conor Benn is expected to be cleared by the WBC and returned to their rankings following their three-month investigation into his two positive tests for the banned drug clomifene.

The WBC’s ruling will be announced next week, according to the Daily Mail. They concluded that the two positive tests of undefeated welterweight candidate Benn were from “consume lots of eggs” and “accidentally swallowed due to contamination.”

Twice tested positive for Benn on July 25 and September 1. two months apart.

Benn is still being investigated by UKAD and the British Boxing Supervisory Board, so it’s possible he could be banned from one of those organisations.

The WBC investigation is just so they can decide whether to bring Benn back to their standings, which would come in handy should he be banned by UKAD.

Of course, Benn can always fight abroad, such as Saudi Arabia. It’s unclear how that will play out in terms of whether there will be a backlash from fans. The average person wouldn’t know anything about Benn’s previous positive tests, so he wouldn’t have to worry about them.

“Conor Benn is expected to be allowed back into the World Boxing Council rankings as they publish their findings following a three-month investigation into his failed drug tests. him,” according to Daily mail.

“Many sources have indicated their judgment will be favorable…even though Benn has tested positive for clomifene twice.

“WBC will call Conor Benn next WEEK after failing drug tests. WBC spent more than a month studying the 270-page dossier compiled by Benn’s lawyers and scientists.

“The WBC findings will point to the possibility accidentally swallowed due to contamination and consumption of many eggs.

“They couldn’t delete him. They will delete his test and say it is a contamination, but it does not remove the other contamination test. It was a separate test,” Gareth A. Davies told King of Boxing Media about Conor Benn remains unclear, even if the WBC investigation proves him innocent.

UKAD conducts the test for the British Boxing Control Board. VADA does that. Conor voluntarily registered as VADA. That’s why it makes no sense for you to cheat. You are registered for VADA; you signed up for WBC Cares because you want to be in their leaderboard fighting for a world title.

“If I were in their position, I would say, ‘VADA is not your inspection body’, but what we do know is that the Boxing Board and UKAD asked for a VADA check and said that they will acknowledge check and investigate it.

“They wanted to remove his name, but he gave up his license, so he was not licensed by the British Boxing Control Board. They also say his license is not up to date, Conor Benn and Eddie Hearn.

“I hope it was two contaminated tests, but the thing is, two positive tests for clomifene showed up in his body during two VADA tests in July and September. you need to refute it in some way or implement a ban or whatever. You cannot raise your hand and speak at the same time.

“You can’t rule that [contamination] outside. I am not a party to the behind-the-scenes evidence. I will say this. He had two positive tests for clomifene in his system. He has yet to prove his innocence against them. There is scientific evidence that they were in his body, according to tests conducted by VADA.

“If they are contaminated, then they need to prove it. If there is a reason, then they need to give a reason. I would love to see him remove his name. I enjoyed watching him fight,” Davies said of Conor.
