Daughter of “Kingmaker” Lalu Yadav Tweets Bhojpuri’s Song About “What Bihar Needs”
New Delhi:
Following Nitish Kumar’s most recent split from the BJP today, the daughters of former prime minister Lalu Prasad Yadav posted celebratory tweets saying he was back in the game in Bihar. Yadav’s daughter, Rohini Acharya, called her father “the king” and tweeted a Bhojpuri song, “Lalu Bin Chalu Ee Bihar Na Hoyi (Bihar cannot run without Lalu). “
The numbers indicate JDU and RJD powerful to form a government together.
“Preparing for coronation, lantern carriers are coming,” wrote Mrs Acharya in Hindi, referring to the electoral symbol (lantern) of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), led by her son. of Lalu Yadav and political heir Tejashwi Yadav. Lalu Yadav, convicted of animal feed fraud on multiple occasions, is currently out on bail.

The song by singer-actor Bhojpuri Khesari Lal Yadav – released ahead of Bihar Legislative Assembly elections earlier this year – contains lines calling for Tejashwi Yadav to become Bihar’s leader. “Tejashwi ke bina sudhaar na hoyi (There can be no progress without Tejashwi) “. There were also some streams of criticism of Nitish Kumar, although not in the clip that Ms. Acharya shared.
Before the songMs Acharya tweeted that there would be a “miracle” soon, “with Bhole Baba’s blessing”, and later shared a photo of her father with the words “kingmaker” written in Devanagari, saying, “His integrity is higher than the sky; he is the pride of the people.”

Tejashwi Yadav, currently Opposition Leader in Parliament, was Nitish Kumar’s deputy after the 2015 elections, when JDU, RJD and Parliament jointly won. Lalu Yadav’s other son Tej Pratap Yadav is also a minister. But that government fell when Nitish Kumar left the “Grand Alliance” to return to the BJP in 2017. JDU and BJP together won the 2020 election.
Today’s reordering is based on Nitish Kumar’s understanding with Tejashwi Yadav, developed over the past few months, visible signs mainly in gestures and silence. Tejashwi Yadav will continue to serve as deputy minister in the new government, sources told NDTV.
This morning, Nitish Kumar told his lawmakers about his decision to split with the BJP, after accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s party of trying to split the JDU. At the same time, Tejashwi Yadav met with his MLAs to formally agree to relationship with Nitish Kumar to return to power.
Nitish Kumar submitted his resignation to the Governor before 4pm.

The JDU has 45 legislators in the 243-member parliament, while the BJP has 77, just enough for a majority of 122. But the RJD is the only largest party with 79 MLAs, so it’s supportive. JDU can keep Nitish Kumar in the seat. According to a report by the ANI news agency, citing sources, Tejashwi Yadav has stated his support for 160 MLA. This will include 19 of the National Assembly, in addition to those from smaller parties.
For Nitish Kumar and Lalu Yadav, this is just the latest round of play in their decades-long association that has seen them fight and make up again and again. Both emerged as young leaders in the 1970s from Jayaprakash Narayan’s movement. They first broke up in the 1990s when Nitish Kumar chose to partner with BJP.
