“Hey guys, I have some news to share and I want you to hear from me directly,” he said in the video posted Tuesday. “Even though I’m fully vaccinated, I’ve just been diagnosed with a breakthrough case of Covid.”
Hough, who appeared on the Monday night show, said he just found out and feels fine.
“I feel strong,” he said. “I’m currently taking advice from medical professionals, doing everything I can to get well as quickly as possible.”
“Breaking case” refers to someone who is fully vaccinated and infected with the virus.
Hough is not the first person on the show to test positive.
The pair are currently finalists with the show’s season 30 finale set to air on November 22.
CNN reached out for comment from ABC on how Hough’s diagnosis will affect the finale.
He announced on his Instagram that his performances for his Vegas residence at The Venetian that were scheduled for this week “will be rescheduled for a date soon.”
