Dillian Whyte Wants $10 Million For Fury Fight, And It’s NOT Happening Arum Says Boxing News 24

Via Scott Gilfoid: Dillian Whyte has been provided 5.5 million dollars for a fight with Tyson Fury, but he wants to double that at 10 million dollars and that will NOT happen, said promoter Bob Arum.

Even with that number, Arum believes Whyte and his team will want OVER $10 million. So if Arum agrees to $10 million, they will firmly demand more.

Unless WBC forces Whyte and his team to change their minds quickly, Fury will go ahead and defend Ring Magazine’s heavyweight title against Andy Ruiz Jr. or Robert Helenius in March.

According to Top Rank promoter Arum, Fury’s WBC heavyweight title will NOT be prepped for his next bout.

Arum says Whyte and his team are treating this fight as if it were “Last hurdle,” resulting in them asking for as much money as possible.

Dillian’s decision to price himself means he will eventually face a “Non-entity” Arum said as he returned to the ring. For Whyte to make huge amounts of money, he needs Fury, Anthony Joshua or Oleksandr Usyk and that’s not going to happen.

Anger to fight Ruiz or Helenius next

“If it’s Helenius, we’ll fight in Great Britain, and if it’s Ruiz, we’ll fight in Las Vegas,” Arum told. iFL TV. “Fury has come to like me so much for my American fan base that wherever I go, I am in Aspen. [Colorado], and everyone was talking about Tyson Fury and what kind of character he was.

“So he became a big draw card in the United States, and I would love to make his next fight in the United States. Frank [Warren] wanted to fight for him in the UK.

“You know, I’m very pleased with that. Tyson, I think, would love to fight his next fight in Manchester, but I really think we’ll have to look at the whole situation.

“I’m going to talk to Frank this week and Tyson, and we’ll figure out what we’re doing,” Arum said.

Robert Helenius or Andy Ruiz Jr are arguably better options for Fury to fight in his next title defense, as far as US boxing fans go.

Those are known to casual fans in the United States rather than Whyte, an unknown there.

Of course, if Fury’s next fight is in the UK, Whyte is the better choice, but clearly, the $10 million he wants won’t fly with Top Rating.

Whyte offers 25%, wants 10 million dollars

Arum talks about the refereeing case of Dillian Whyte and how he wants to split 55/45 for a clash with Fury.

“What he should do is come to the table and figure out an agreement for the war to happen in England. Frank has a spot in Cardiff that we can put it in. If you [Whyte] think he can win, and I suppose he doesn’t, but if he does, let him win and be the WBC champion.

“Stop cramming around with arbitration and find a way to push for the biggest dollar. Tyson is the big attraction. In fact, nobody had heard of Dillian Whyte in the US, and we offered him a 25% deal with a guarantee.

“He said he wanted eight figures, more than $10 million, that was undisputed. I don’t know what he’s talking about,” Arum said of Whyte asking TOO much flour for a fight with Fury.

“No, with WBC we will talk about 20 or 25% to the challenger [Whyte] and 80 or 75% for the champion [Fury]. But let him [Whyte] came to the table with the usual kind of negotiation. Not to say he wanted the number eight.

“Skip the crap and let’s sit down and have a zoom call and see if we can put it together because nobody wants to sue. We’re going to play Dillian Whyte or Robert Helenius or Andy Ruiz soon and get it done,” Arum said.

Whyte promoter Eddie Hearn has said for weeks that they would disagree with the 80/20 split that Top Rated is offering Dillian for the fight with Fury.

So even if Arum did sweeten the offer by increasing it to 75/25, that still wouldn’t be enough.

If the $5.5 million Arum is offering Whyte is equivalent to a 25% split for him, the $10 million Dillian and his team are asking for should be close to the 55/45 split they love. bridge.

$5.5 million sounds like a great offer, and it’s strange that Whyte didn’t agree to it. That’s how much Andy Ruiz Jr gets for both of his fights with Anthony Joshua, and you won’t hear him complaining about the dough not being enough.

If Whyte can make that kind of money when he ends up fighting for the WBC title, he’ll have more power, but I really doubt it.
