Dmitry Bivol says he will give Canelo “another loss”
Via Sean Jones: Canelo Alvarez entered the fight picking his first direct opponent in four years when he took on WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol on May 7.
Bivol is laughing at many who consider 31-year-old Canelo untouchable, pointing out that he have been contacted by Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Gennadiy, both do better than him.
What makes Bivol different from deeply flawed The belt holder that Canelo picks in 2021 in super middleweight is his talent and fighting ability. Bivol has power, movement and can throw combinations.
Every part of the Bivol game is like kryptonite to defeat a rogue champion that heavyweight boxing fans and cheerleaders have built to become an untouchable fighter in their minds.
Casual boxing fans with little knowledge of the sport believe this bout will be a showdown for Canelo (57-1-2.39 KOs), opinion-based of the Mexican star’s victory over the titleholders who should never have been champions in the first place.
“Of course, he has good strength and good skills, but most people think of him as untouchable or unstoppable or he has enough strength to beat super heavyweight opponents,” WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol told Battle Hub BILLIONV about Canelo Alvarez.
That will come as a shock to die-hard boxing and heavyweight boxing fans who are more Canelo cheerleaders than true fans who see the sport in a scientifically analytical way.
Yes, there will be tears from fans when Canelo is defeated by Bivol, but that’s what happens when you build a fighter based on fantasy rather than reality.
His managed Canelo did an excellent job in building the misleading view fans have of him, which builds on his fights against these limited boxers:
- Caleb Plant – IBF 168-lb . Champion
- Billy Joe Saunders – 168-lb . WBO Champion
- Callum Smith – 168-lb . WBA Champion
- Rocky Fielding – 168-lb . ‘regular’ WBA Champion
- Sergey Kovalev – 175-lb . WBO Champion
- Daniel Jacobs – IBF 160-lb . Champion
For all intents and purposes, Canelo hasn’t beaten the paper champions in the past four years since his bad experience against Golovkin in their rematch.
You can’t blame Canelo for wanting to take an easy path after his controversial win over GGG in 2018, as people don’t easily carry out tasks they feel will be difficult, demanding work. disruptive and can lead to failure.
If Canelo fights the opposition he should be fighting, like Andrade, Benavidez, Golovkin [trilogy] & Beterbiev, he could have lost. So instead of accepting tough challenges, Canelo took the easy route, battling weak belt holders and even his old fighting partner Avni Yildirim.
Regular boxing fans might consider those boxers elite, but they’re not. Essentially, they are all deeply flawed belt holders, whom Canelo chooses to win more easily than against talented boxers.
If Canelo wants to present himself as the best, he’s going to fight these guys:
- Gennadiy Golovkin
- Demetrius Andrade
- Artur Betterbiev
- Dmitry Bivol
- David Morrell Jr
The fact is that Canelo was defeated many times, but fortunately he continuously scored favorable goals in matches with Golovkin x 2, Miguel Cotto, Erislandy Lara and Austin Trout.
Even going up against Mayweather, you got a umpire giving it a draw, showing how hard it is to beat a superstar boxer, no matter how badly you outdo him. .
“Sometimes it’s funny to hear people talk about him.” Bivol laughs at fans who have built Canelo in their heads in cartoonish fashion, seeing things that have no basis in reality.
“First of all, he’s a good fighter, and he’s a man. He’s got a loss and a draw,” said Bivol as he reminded fans that Canelo couldn’t beat Mayweather Or Golovkin.
“If you believe in your skills and you are a good fighter, you can give him another loss.
“He has better speed and he has more boxing skills. Golovkin was more confident in their first fight, and I think Golovkin should have won in the first fight,” said Bivol.
It will be a bitter pill for boxing fans to swallow when or if Bivol beats Canelo on May 7, especially those looking forward to seeing him fight Jermall Charlo and Golovkin.
