Donation Record of PDJF TVG Telethon Shatters
TVG Telethon’s fourth annual TVG Telethon Permanent Disability Jockeys Fund, held April 10 and presented by Lane’s End Farm, raised a record $383,945. The 2020 event was canceled due to the pandemic, but it returned in 2021 to raise US$339,672.
Support came from all over the country including a large donation from Lane’s Last Ranch; Lee, Aimee and Jeffrey Einsider; Jim McIngvale; and John Hendrickson on behalf of the Marylou Whitney Foundation. FanDuel, the parent company of TVG, has donated all donations up to $100,000.
This year was also the first time the event was broadcast on both TVG and America Day at the Races, in partnership with NYRA and FOX Sports.
“On behalf of the recipients and the PDJF Council, we are fortunate and grateful for the support we have received from the industry partners who have provided the platform for Telethon that allows us to reach many people during the 6 hour broadcast,” said Nancy LaSala, President of PDJF. “The needs and journeys of our recipients are varied and ever-changing. The message of PDJF recipient Roger Blanco at the end of the broadcast to all those who have supported PDJF this day and in the past was a message that resonated with all PDJF recipients. ”
