For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Dr. Shahin Ghadir, a fertility specialist at the Southern California Fertility Center and owner of Fertile life audio file. My passion is to help people navigate in life and make sure they have all their future fertility needs addressed and are aware of how to fulfill their goals at that point. I would like to discuss some of the most important issues related to fertility preservation, aka egg freezing, in this blog.

I personally did IVF with my wife and resulted in beautiful 10-year-old twins. We also had two other children who appeared spontaneously. I understand what it means to be frustrated by the fertility journey and also understand how this can be more frustrating for the average person who is not a fertility specialist.

Freeze eggs after 35 and 40

Egg freezing is a very important and hot topic in our society today. There are many benefits to solving this problem.

Dr. Ghadir on freezing your eggs in your 30s:

Egg freezing allows you to continue your social and professional career and not have to worry about running out of eggs. In general, the average woman begins to lose fertility around the age of 26 or 27. By the time a woman is 40, 90% of her eggs become abnormal.

♡ Freezing also allows you to create embryos in the future when you want to get pregnant & genetic testing to see if the embryo is genetically normal and you will know if it is a male or female embryo. If you don’t want to know your gender, we usually keep it a secret from you.

♡ It sounds like a huge financial investment, but doing IVF or using egg donation in the future will cost 4 to 10 times more.

♡ Egg freezing can be funded like any other investment in your life and is probably the best insurance policy you will spend money on.

♡ Egg freezing allows you to take certain medications and have certain treatments in your life that you could not have foreseen, such as chemotherapy or radiation, and not have to worry about it ruining your life. your future fertility.

♡ It allows you to go to sleep at night and rest assured that just because you don’t have a Grandpa or Grandma right in your life at the moment (or if it’s not a good time), you can move on to another some time without any rush.

♡ Egg freezing could mean helping a friend of yours who may not be able to have children in the future. Or it could mean helping out your sister who might need an egg or you could leave the egg in your favor to one of your children in case they can’t have one. stepchild.

♡ It only takes 12 to 14 days and the main side effect related to bloating usually goes away by the following week.

♡ Freezing your eggs is painless and egg retrieval takes place in the surgery center or procedure room and is done under mild sedation and you won’t feel anything.

♡ Freezing your eggs can cost as little as $6400 plus medication at reputable clinics like the Southern California Fertility Center where I work.

Overall, egg freezing is the smartest thing a woman can do if she’s considering having children at any point in the future. The younger you do, the better the egg quality and the more eggs you will have. For anyone who hasn’t dealt with egg freezing before they turn 30, the best birthday gift you can give yourself is to consult a fertility specialist.

As you can see, freezing your eggs is a topic that I can discuss for days on end and the benefits are limitless.
