Edmonton Oilers fall behind 3-0 in West Final to Avalanche

The Edmonton Oilers are on the verge of elimination after a 4-2 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday night at Rogers Place.

The Avs led the Western Conference final with a score of 3-0.

The Oilers took the lead at 38 seconds of the game. Connor McDavid overcame Zach Hyman and overcame Pavel Francouz ninth in the playoffs. Just 28 seconds later, Evander Kane shoved Nazem Kadri from behind, sending the Av striker into danger. Kane was assessed five minutes short of boarding. Avalanche had nine shots if he played strength but couldn’t tackle Mike Smith. Late in the first game, Nurse Darnell tried to cut Valeri Nichushkin’s pass behind the net, but he broke it behind Smith’s back.

Nichushkin scored again in the second minute when a blocked shot appeared directly in front of him. Smith robbed Nichushkin then in the second, He seemed frustrated and frustrated, but shot up his gauntlet to magically refuse.

Ryan McLeod crossed the blue line and fired with his wrist to make it 2-2 with 12:26 in the third half. With the Oilers power play, Francouz made a desperate save against McDavid. Evan Bouchard hit the post late in the power game, then JT Compher dashed out of the box, beating Bouchard and beating Smith by five holes. Mikko Rantanen scored the goal into an empty net at the last minute.

Kadri did not return to the game. Avs head coach Jared Bednar said Kadri will miss the rest of the series and possibly more.

Smith finished with 39 saves. Francouz stops 27.
