Fury wants Joe Joyce to fight Chisora, Whyte, Joshua & Dubois
Via Charles Brun: Tyson Fury wants to see WBO’s undefeated interim heavyweight champion Joe Joyce face Derek Chisora, Dillian Whyte, Anthony Joshua or Daniel Dubois in the next fight.
Unfortunately, Joyce’s chances of fighting any of those four heavyweights are close to zero. Even the Chisora journeyer would probably refuse to fight Joyce if offered.
Joyce (15-0, 14 KOs) is about to have an eleventh round knockout win over former WBO champion Joseph Parker in Manchester. After an impressive win over Joyce, none of the guys Fury mentioned wanted to pick a fight with him.
Chisora is 38 years old and has just had a fascinating fight against Fury. If Chisora continues, he will almost certainly face weaker opponents to build himself on in the hopes of getting another big match of the day given to him in a year or two. .
“I want to credit Joe Joyce,” Tyson Fury said talkSPORT Boxing. “Joe Joyce deserves a chance to win the world title. Let him have one.
“Dillian Whyte is a good one, Derek Chisora, Daniel Dubois rematch and AJ.
“He is old for an athlete. He’s 37 or 38. He doesn’t have a lot of wear and tear,” Fury said of Joyce.
Over time, Joyce is 37 years old, but physically he looks a lot younger, almost 27 or 28 years old. Joyce looks much younger than Fury at 34, even though he’s three years older.
When the two boxers stood side by side last Saturday night inside the ring at Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium in London, Fury looked at least ten years older than Joyce in this writer’s opinion.
Fury has the appearance of a 40-year-old man standing next to a 28-year-old. Given how aging Fury is, it’s a good idea to fight Joyce as soon as possible because if he waits a year, he won’t have any chance of winning.
Whyte (28-3, 19 KOs) is expected to face Anthony Joshua in 2023, so he won’t put that big payday at risk by going up against Joe Joyce and getting him. chewed.
Whyte looked bad in his final game, winning a questionable 12th majority decision against American Jermaine Franklin on November 26. Dillian looked like he was shot in that game, as he was. dominated the first nine innings before regrouping in the championship rounds.
This writer thinks Franklin won by 9-3, and it won’t be over if you win by round. Whyte would obviously never agree to fight Joyce because he would be ripped apart and lose the big money fight to Joshua.
Fury wants Joyce to be 6’6″ (15-0, 14 KOs) tall in 2023 after he first faced off against IBF, WBA & WBO champion Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed title. Ultimately, whether the Fury-Joyce fight happens or not will depend on the outcome of Fury’s undefeated fight with Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs).
There’s doubt that even Fury will fight Joyce next year. Although Fury says he wants to give Joyce a chance, he’ll most likely maneuver around him next year.
Fury will have the perfect excuse not to fight Joyce due to his crumbling body with lingering injuries or if he loses to Oleksandr Usyk in the first half of 2023.
