Godolphin class starts flying 2020-22

After a two-year roller coaster ride due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Godolphin Flying Start 2022 graduation ceremony took place at the Cape Cross center at Kildangan Stud in Ireland on June 24. The Godolphin Flying Start program was announced. received by University College Dublin Michael Smurfit Business School as a Postgraduate Certificate in Management. Among the graduating class speakers and assembled guests were Helen Brophy, Smurfit Executive Development Manager at UCD, and Joe Osborne, Godolphin Ireland CEO and Godolphin Flying Start Trustee.

Osborne said: “On behalf of the global Godolphin team, I congratulate this graduating class and wish them success and encouragement for their future in the purebred industry.

Graduates in 2022 include interns from 5 countries, including Angus Robertson (Australia), Samantha Bussanich (USA), Devon Dougherty (USA), Erin McLaughlin (USA), Tommy Lyon Smith (UK) , Brigitte Murphy (Ireland), Donncha McCarthy (Ireland), David Skelly (Ireland), Marine Moussa (France) and Solene Hudbert (France).


The diploma for top interns was awarded to George Broughton (UK), who got the highest score in the group graduating in 2022, winning the Excellence award.

Angus Robertson and Samantha Bussanich spoke on behalf of the class, reflecting on their two years’ experience with their classmates.

“We had the most unorthodox experience in the show’s 19-year history, but it was an experience we didn’t want to trade. At a time when people’s lives are in turmoil because of impasse, social distance and difficulty, we are 11 lucky individuals who still manage to travel, gain practical experience and incredible theory, while growing personally and professionally.
