Google Pixel Watch offers 24-hour battery life, tips Fitbit Teardown App

The Google Pixel Watch was announced during the I/O 2022 event in May as the company’s first smartwatch product, alongside the Pixel Buds Pro and Pixel 6a. It runs on Wear OS platform and integrates Fitbit to track various physical activities. The Google Pixel Watch will be available in the US starting this fall, and ahead of its launch, the Fitbit app is said to be ready for wearable support. The app’s recent APK (Android Package Kit) fork shows new in-app text related to evening charging reminders, giving a hint about the smartwatch’s estimated battery life.

Estimated battery life of Google Pixel Watch to be suggestions by 9to5Google via a small APK while testing the latest v3.65 version of the Fitbit app. The app can be used to manage wearable devices. According to the report, the app’s APK summary includes new in-app text regarding an evening charge reminder for the Google Pixel Watch. With this upcoming toggle enabled, Fitbit will send a notification reminding the user to charge their smart watch.

The Fitbit app generally recommends charging your device to at least 30% before bed to ensure effective sleep tracking. Assuming that Google is looking at getting enough sleep at 8 hours, the report suggests that the smartwatch can provide around 24 hours of battery life. These are consistent with the past report claimed that the Google Pixel Watch has a battery of about 300mAh that delivers up to a day of runtime on a single charge.

In May of this year, Google introduce Pixel watches at I/O 2022. It will run the latest version of Wear OS and feature a circular display with minimal bezels and curved glass protection. The smart watch has a stainless steel construction. Wearables support Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Wallet. It can be used as a remote for compatible smart home devices using the Home app for Wear OS.

Google also packed an interchangeable, customizable wristband on the Pixel Watch. It will also offer heart rate monitoring and sleep monitoring. The Pixel Watch will also work with the Find My Device app to help users locate their lost Pixel phone, headset, or any other supported device.
