“I’m not a woman, I’m a god,” Halsey declared in a song once – but even she can’t control the weather.
The singer was forced to cancel her Wednesday night performance in Maryland after a storm hit the Merriweather Post Pavilion sarcastically titled, calling the situation “literally insane” in an Instagram Live.
“Basically what happened was there was some unexpected and unpredictable weather that the weather experts” she works on the road “didn’t even see coming, some storm cells appeared real. very quickly and immediately becomes dangerous.”
She apologized to fans who had been stuck in the amphitheater hours before the cancellation announcement, explaining that local authorities had advised her team to put the venue in a place order to avoid stampede occurred.
Footage of the flooded venue was taken by Twitter users at Wednesday’s concert, showing “unreal” stage: ankle deep water, the rain hits the chairand, in one video, a passerby kicking something that appeared become a drenched squirrel off the stage.
“Maryland, I don’t even know what to say…” Halsey Written on Twitter, promising a rescheduled show in a separate tweet. “But right now I am heartbroken and panicking and I just want to know when/that you guys get home safely. I love you more than anything.”
In the next few tweets, the singer responded to a fan’s question asking why she didn’t go on stage, write, “I promise I want more than anything. But I couldn’t because it would be very unsafe if I was out there and people were rushing onto the stage during or after the storm. A lot of things were out of my control tonight but I promise of all I could choose, I chose your safety. ”
She continue, “I would really like to add that I am extremely disappointed with the way the venue has organized everything this evening and my scheduled date will be somewhere else. I promise you loud and clear. ”
