Honda Integra Type S is back

Honda’s Acura brand has confirmed it’s working on a reborn Integra Type S for the North American market, scheduled to launch in 2024.

Details about the new flagship are a bit scarce, but we do know that it will run a high-revving 2.0-liter VTEC turbocharged engine with “300+ hp”, or at least 223 kW.

The engine will be mated exclusively to a six-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive, with torque regulated by a limited-slip differential.

“Details will be shared closer to launch,” Acura promises.

We imagine the powertrain as a power-powered version of the new Civic Type-R, powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 235kW and 420Nm of torque, combined with standard six-speed manual transmission’ box.

The triple exhaust outlet is a giveaway.

Acura brought back the Integra nameplate in March 2022. Unlike the famous two-door version, the new version is a five-door upgrade designed to be more practical.

Unless you’re in North America, though, your chances of buying one at this stage seem slim – it’s just a left-hand drive, Acura-branded product. Indeed, for the first time, the Integra will be manufactured in the United States. Ohio to be specific.

Honda Australia enthusiasts should take some solace that the Civic Type R will arrive in Australia from February 2023 for $72,600 driving away.

we just consider itand suffice to say it’s an absolute weapon.
