How that ’90s show handled Danny Masterson’s absence

That 90s showNew Netflix That’s 70 performances sequel series, bringing a host of familiar faces to Point Place — with original stars Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Topher grace, Prepare Laura and Wilmer Valderrama all reprise their roles in cameo appearances — but one actor is notably absent: Danny Masterson.

Masterson played Steven Hyde, Eric Forman’s (Grace) best friend, for all eight seasons of That’s 70 performancesbut lately he’s been busy with the court.

In June 2020, the actor was arrested and accused of raping 3 women in separate incidents that occurred between 2001 and 2003. Masterson denies all charges and pleads not guilty.

In November 2022, the case was declared a mistake after the jurors could not come to a unanimous decision. A retrial is scheduled for March.

After the confusion, E! The news reached Masterson’s lawyer Philip Cohen to comment but got no reply.

So how That 90s show solve his character’s shortcomings? Well, simply, it doesn’t.

Steven (or better known as Hyde) is never even mentioned by name and no information is provided about his whereabouts.
