Did you know that we spend 1/3 of our lives sleeping? Yes, you read that right. Cassidy is from Team Living in Yellow and I’m a BIG advocate for a good night’s sleep – I’ve always said sleep is central to health and wellness. With that said, I want to make sure my bed promotes the best night’s sleep possible! I not only want my bed to feel luxurious but also to look luxurious because who doesn’t love having a beautiful bedroom!? I want to make sure that while making some upgrades to my bed and bedroom, I’m also being conservative about the cost. Beds, bedding, cushions etc can certainly get very expensive so I definitely had to integrate a lot of the things I already have to avoid doing a complete overhaul! Of course, we have to start with a good mattress! My husband and I chose Genuine Casper foam mattress and no regrets. While it’s an investment, it’s worth every penny in my opinion! Installation is easy – You are the classic “bed in the box” and it really is a great concept. You need a box spring or a bed! Next, let’s talk about mattress toppers. I bought this mattress topper after Lauren [see more about her here!] recommend it! Did I mention it has almost 60,000 reviews and under $40?! You then. If you took anything away from this post, leave it like this! For bed sheets, I buy this repeat! And speaking of reviews… these sheets have almost 300,000 reviews! 😱 They give you a luxurious feel without breaking!
Now that we have the foundation, let’s start making the bed look good! One trick that I love to do to make my bed look more luxurious is to add one coverlet! After I put my sheets on the bed [don’t forget to tuck the top sheet at the bottom of your bed to give it that hotel feeling!], I put the tablecloth on top. It gives the bed that warmth, texture and designer feel. Next is a comforter or duvet. If you’re using a duvet, another tip I’m using is to order a duvet insert one size larger. This ensures that the duvet cover is plump and plump! In the summer, we choose to use only the tablecloth, and during the winter months, we use both the tablecloth and the comforter. And finally, when adding a throw blanket to your bed, buy the right size! If you have a king-size bed, look for a blanket that’s oversized. Having a blanket that’s too small can make your bed look disproportionate and unflattering! This is my trip throw, beautiful, soft, warm and available in many colors and designs. And finally, I’ve been battling with my metal bed frame for years now… with fitted sheets, nightgowns, everything and nothing feels right. I would love to just buy a new bed frame with the headboard included, but it feels like a waste when I have a perfectly good headboard, metal bed frame, and box springs. Plus, it’s not on the budget! Insert Standard woven Circa bed cover – answers to my prayers. After buying and installing it [I recommend two people and NOT trying to do it alone, ha!] I will give it a 4 out of 5 stars! I really love the look and the way it gives the illusion that my bed is more custom but, the installation is quite difficult and I have noticed in some areas maybe it looks a bit wrinkled? All in all, I’m very pleased with this purchase and I love that it comes in so many colors to match your room. This bed cover works best with a metal frame NO headboard included.
