iQoo 9 Series to Sport Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, VC Holographic Cooling System
iQoo 9 series, which is rumored to include iQoo 9 and iQoo 9 Pro smartphones, will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. The Vivo sub-brand also confirmed that the smartphones that will feature the VC holographic cooling system will have an immersion plate with an area of 3,926 square mm. The news comes hours after iQoo announced that the iQoo 9 series will launch on January 5 in China and that at least one phone in the lineup will feature a 4,700mAh battery with 120W fast charging.
In one post on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo, iQoo shared two images confirming that the phones – likely the iQoo 9 and iQoo 9 Pro – will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. The chipset will be paired with an “enhanced version” of LPDDR5 RAM and an “overclocked version” of UFS 3.1 (translated) memory. It also says that the handsets will also pack a three-way VC cooling system to keep their temperatures under control.
In a teaser a few hours ago, iQoo revealed the battery specifications of this series of products. Without naming any specific handsets, the Chinese brand says the smartphone will pack a 4,700mAh battery with 120W fast charging technology and support for 50W wireless charging. If we go by specifications trending in iQoo 8 series, iQoo 8 Pro has a larger battery with 120W fast charging as well as 50W fast wireless charging. It is possible that the battery spec belongs to the rumored iQoo 9 Pro.
Meanwhile, it was also confirmed iQoo 9 series will launch on January 5 in China. The phone will feature Samsung’s second-generation 2K E5 AMOLED display and feature a triple rear camera system.
