ISL 2023-24: Kerala Blasters FC signs experienced Indian right-back Prabir Das

Ahead of the upcoming season of Indian Super League (ISL 2023-224), Kerala Blasters FC Announcing the signing of an experienced right-back from India Prabir Das on a three-year contract until 2026.

Das, who has represented ATK FC, ATK Mohun Bagan And Bangalore FC in the past will give yellow shirt in ISL 2023-24.

The West Bengal footballer played 106 games in the ISL and provided 7 assists. He has created 63 chances in his career so far and has developed himself into one of the best attacking full-backs in the league.

Commenting on the signing of Prabir Das, Karolis Skinkys, Sports Director, Kerala Blasters, said, “Prabir Das joins the team with loads of experience winning titles. We hope his presence as a senior player will have a positive impact on the younger members of the team, both on and off the pitch.”

“He has played with and against some of the best footballers in India in various leagues and that knowledge combined with his skill will benefit the team. I wish Prabir all the best for the upcoming season.” he added.

Prabir Das excitedly said, “The board conveyed a very interesting vision of the brand of football they wanted to play and how I fit into it. I am eager to play an important part in the success of the club and I am very grateful to the owners and board of directors for placing their trust in me. I can’t wait to start and stay on the right side of the Yellow Sea in Kaloor in the future!”

Prabir became the second signing of the summer, after transfer of Australian striker Jaushua Sotirio who was announced by Kerala Blasters FC last week.

Prabir Das’s career

Prabir Das, 29 years old, from West Bengal, is an Indian football player. A product of Pailan Arrows Youth Academy, Das had a breakout season with the Arrows in 2012-2013, after which he moved to Dempo and was subsequently loaned to FC Go Vap and formerly the Delhi Dynamos in early editions of the Indian Super League. The right-back then spent 7 years in Kolkata with ATK and ATK Mohan Bagan. Before moving to KBFC, Prabir is with Bengaluru FC.

Throughout his career, Prabir has won numerous titles in various national competitions including Hero ISL (2016 & 2019-20), I-League (2014-15), League Cup (2015–16) and Durand Cup (2022). He has also represented the National Team of all ages.
