Before the upcoming season of the Indian Super League (ISL 2023-24), Odisha FC announced that they have parted with the front Nandhakumar Sekar.
Sekar has been a part of the team since its inception in 2019 and left the club after four seasons.
Sekar appeared in 59 ISL matches for Odisha FC over the past four seasons, scoring seven goals and providing five assists. He is an important part of the inner faction ISL season 2022-23, scoring seven goals and having one assist, this is his best season ever in terms of goals contributed. The Chennai-born winger also continued his sublime form in the English Super Cup, scoring four goals as Odisha lifted the trophy Super Cupit was the first silver trophy for the club.
Sekar was rewarded for his outstanding performances upon being called up to the Indian national team. The 27-year-old has been named by India head coach Igor Stimac to his 27-member squad for the Intercontinental Cup and SAFF Championship.
