Before the upcoming season of the Indian Super League (ISL 2023-24), Odisha FC launched six first team players including Saul Crespo, Pedro Martin, Raynier Fernandes, Denechandra Meitei, Lalruatthara Bose And Karan Aminthe club announced on their social medias.
With the exception of Bose, who signed with the club in 2021, all other players have joined the club on a one-year contract in 2022. Fernandes and Meiteiin particular, has put pen to paper with the club on a one-year loan deal from Mumbai City FC and Kerala Blasters FC respectively.
Striker Martin, along with midfield duo Crespo and Fernandes regularly feature in the 11-man squad for the Kalinga Warriors in the ISL 2022-23 season. Martin played 20 matches, contributed 3 goals and 1 assist despite playing only 828 minutes. Midfielder Fernandes has played the same number of games for the team, scoring 3 assists. Meanwhile, Crespo provided two assists in 18 matches and was one of Odisha FC’s most important players as the Bhubaneswar-based side qualified for the knockout stages. for the first time in history.
Meitei started in four of the 14 games he played for Odisha FC, while Bose featured in just 14. On the other hand, Amin was not present.
Odisha FC will hope to sign the appropriate reinforcements, upon prior notice ISL winner Sergio Lobera as their head coach earlier this month. The club will look to strengthen their squad and achieve more success, after winning Super Cup and has placed a berth in AFC Cup 2023-24 group stage.
