Joseph Parker plans to KO Joe Joyce on Saturday
Via Charles Brun: Joseph Parker says he believes he can KO undefeated Joe Joyce this Saturday night in their premier clash at Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.
Parker (30-2, 21 KOs) notes that Joyce (14-0, 13 KOs) is extremely easy to hit, and although he can make a good punch, he can be stopped if he beaten a lot.
Joyce was stopped at the amateur ranks, and as a career, he fought back against midway opposition to build on his 14-0 record.
The only serious contenders that Joyce 6’6 ″ fought against were Bryant Jennings and Daniel Dubois. Jennings injured Joyce on the body during their battle in 2019.
As for Dubois, he suffered an eye injury that resulted in him having to bow his head early before he could fully arm Joyce.
The worrying thing is the nagging cough that Parker has enter this war. He doesn’t sound good, and you have to wonder if he’s 100%.
“It could be. It all depends on me how I approach this fight,” Joseph Parker told Queensbury about his clash this Saturday with Joe Joyce.
“I didn’t take anything from Joe Joyce. He’s a tough fight. If I can do what I know I can and what Andy [Lee] know I can and what Tyson [Fury] know I can, I can help us have an easy night.
“A lot of things in camp right now are physical and mental. We have been doing a lot of things to prepare for every aspect. I’m not really sure what Joe Joyce is planning and his team.
“I won’t say I don’t care, but I’m more focused on myself and what my plans are. Yes, I have. I’ve seen him get hit with a lot of punches,” Parker said when asked if he was thinking of taking Joyce down.
“My knockouts aren’t the greatest or worse, but I have knockout power. Yes, I envision taking him down. Boom, straight to the chin. Straight down the pipe or a hook on the left.
“I pictured it in my head with different punches. It has to land at the right time and with a clean punch. Joe Joyce can take one punch, but can he take many punches?? All add up. He’s tough and durable, but he’s been knocked down in the past. Parker said.
