Kia’s terrible month, taking second place on the sales chart
The upward march of Thatused to be the clear number two Korean brand behind Hyundai’s stakeholder, continuing in earnest throughout June 2022.
The company was in second place for the month with sales of 8,480 units, and topped the all-time monthly market share statistics – 8.5% of the total industry.
Its sales figures put it in third place (8259), Mazda (6245, as supply decreased) and Mitsubishi (5846).
In an overall market that fell nearly 10% on the month, Kia increased its sales by 7.5%.
It also won the silver medal in total second-quarter sales, though it’s fourth by far – behind Toyota, Mazda and Mitsubishi but ahead of Hyundai.

Kia’s results come despite a shortage of stock for key models – which affects all car brands today, to be fair – meaning that many of the sales This has completed existing orders.
Highlights for the brand include new sales records for Carnival (1101 units) and Sportage (2044). It also topped the Micro, People Mover and Large Car segments.
The June results were more impressive as core models like the Picanto (down 91%), the Cerato (down 41%) and the Seltos (down 8%) all dropped shocks.
