Kim Kardashian changed to Marilyn Monroe’s 1962 Golden Globe dress after the Met Gala
Met Gala 2022 witnessed an unprecedented fashion moment when Kim Kardashian arrived wearing a nude hand beaded dress by Jean Louis, famously worn by Marilyn Monroe in 1962 to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to former US president JF Kennedy. Now, according to Kim’s latest Instagram post, it has been revealed that it is not Monroe the dress she wore that day.
After lavish fashion, she became one of the other celebrities Monroe’s gown – the Norman Norell dress she wore at the 1962 Golden Globes, where she was awarded the Henrietta Award for her film, World’s Favorite Movies (In 1953).
“To cap off my night after The Met, I had the honor of changing into Marilyn Monroe’s Norman Norell dress she wore at the 1962 Golden Globes — where she received the Henrietta Award for World’s Favorite Movies” Kim wrote and shared a picture of her wearing a body-hugging blue sequin dress.
Revealing the story behind acquiring this iconic dress, she added, “In my quest to find Jean Louis’s hand-beaded dress that I wore to the prom, I discovered it. out @heritageauctions own Marilyn’s iconic green sequined dress. Furthermore, in my research, I discovered that the owner of Golden Globe she received that evening was none other than my friend @jeffleatham. I take all this as an indication that all the stars align. “
