Lancet study: Pollution kills 2.3 million Indians in 2019
The report states that in 2000, the damage caused by traditional pollution was 3.2% of India’s GDP. Since then, the mortality rate from traditional pollution has decreased and the economic damage has decreased significantly, but the figure remains at around 1% of India’s GDP.
