Level I winner Leofric (Candy Ride {Arg} –Lady Godiva, of Unbridled’s Song), who used to stand at Rockridge Stud in New York, will be moving to Darby Dan Farm in Kentucky for the 2022 breeding season. The 8-year-old horse will cost $7,500 S&N.
“There is so much to like about Leofric. Ryan Norton, stallion director at Darby Dan Farm, said. “Being a Rank I winner by Candy Ride, it makes a lot of sense to bring him to Kentucky now to give him every chance to succeed as a stallion and carry on the stud’s legacy. We are excited to share him with breeders.”
Leofric won GI Clark H. 2018, GII Hagyard Fayette S. and GIII Governor of West Virginia S. He finished third in GI Woodward S. that year. Across the board at 12 of 14 starts, he won eight times and earned $951,040 for owner Steve Landers Racing and coach Brad Cox.
Leofric retires in 2020 and is represented by his first ponies this year. He will stand at Darby Dan as the property of an institution.
